Every element is inspired by its environment; the twisting totem-like form, the archetypal Auckland laneway, the sparkling yet reflective structure, and colours that reference Auckland's coastal setting. As it draws from its surroundings, The Pacifica also gives back, mirroring the energy of the city, the skyline, and the people who live, work and play there. Maori Pikorua motif of two intertwined pikopiko ferns are represented in the building's exterior 'twist'. The pixel glass depicts motif seen in Pasifika and Maori cultural woven artworks and tapestries. Blue hues reflect the wash of the ocean as it transitions from the dark blue depths to the whitewash of the shoreline waves.
